Steel is the core of what we do.

The majority of our work involves steel in one form or another: mild steel, stainless steel, structural grades, galvanised sheet, high-strength plate. We hold mild and stainless steels in stock and can begin cutting as soon as your order is placed.

We cut steel using fibre laser technology, which produces clean, precise edges across the full range of grades and thicknesses we handle. From thin gauge sheet to heavy plate, the process is the same: CNC-programmed, consistent, and repeatable.

Steel Grades We Cut

We process all common structural and engineering steel grades, including:

Specification Details
Mild Steel (S275) Max sheet: 4,000 x 2,000mm | Max thickness: 25mm
Mild Steel (S355) Max sheet: 4,000 x 2,000mm | Max thickness: 25mm
Mild Steel (CR4) Max sheet: 4,000 x 1,500mm | Max thickness: 3mm
Galvanised Steel Max sheet: 4,000 x 1,500mm | Max thickness: 3mm
Stainless Steel Multiple grades and finishes available — see stainless page

If you're working with a grade not listed here, contact us. We can advise on suitability and confirm availability and lead time.

Why Laser Cut Steel?

Laser cutting offers significant advantages over traditional cutting methods for most steel applications:

  • Clean, precise edges, typically requiring no secondary finishing for non-structural applications
  • Complex profiles and tight tolerances are achievable without hard tooling
  • Minimal heat-affected zone compared to plasma or oxy-fuel cutting
  • Efficient nesting reduces material waste and cost per part
  • No setup cost per shape, design changes require only a programme update
  • Suitable for both one-off and high-volume production runs

For thicker steel plate where tolerances are less critical, we can advise whether plasma cutting would be more cost-effective, but for most engineering applications, laser cutting is the right choice.

Common Steel Laser Cutting Applications

Steel laser cutting is used across virtually every manufacturing and fabrication sector. Common applications we see regularly:

  • Structural components and steel fabrication brackets
  • Machine frames, guards and enclosures
  • Flat parts for welded assemblies
  • Agricultural and construction machinery components
  • Architectural and decorative steelwork
  • Blanks for further forming, such as bending, pressing or machining
  • Prototype and development parts

Cut and Bent Steel Parts

If your steel parts need to be formed as well as cut, we can handle bending in the same facility, no second supplier needed.

We can also add threaded holes via tapping before dispatch, so parts arrive ready to assemble.
